My weekend was a bit hectic but eye-opening. 🥰 I am back home after attending the Choice retreat which was conducted by Jesus Youth Kerala Family Stream. It was a three day retreat that started on 29th May morning 08.00 and ended today at around 15.30. I was not aware that such a program was happening in Jesus Youth. I got to know about it back in March, when Ashly, a coordinator girl from Jesus Youth Infopark Kakkanad posted a story on Instagram.
I always wanted to attend such an orientation program to get an idea of the Catholic side of marriage. This program is very famous among Jesus Youth and is an complete orientation program for young people who are planning to commit to the sacrament of Holy Matrimony.
Ashly told me that this program is a beautiful and informative program when I enquired to her about the program. I told her to let me know when the next iteration of this program is conducted since I always wanted to prepare myself before putting efforts for get my soulmate. She actually remember that I told her that which was a shock to me and informed me that it is happening in May end. This is how I got to register for the same. ☺️
When I reached the program venue which is a beautiful place filled with serene greenery close to the Periyar river. Being at that place felt peaceful and joy filled. The retreat covered a lot of core concepts of Christian marriages and how to prepare for the same. It covered a lot of ideas such as the five love languages, the goal of christian marriages, sexual intimacy, pregnancy, pro-life, normal marriage verses Christian marriages, inner healing, additions and how to overcome them, spiritual habits, finance and money management and finally the legal side of marriage and the legal canonical teaching of the church. Once the session was over, I got an overall idea on what to look for in a partner and how to prepare myself for the sacrament of Holy Matrimony. One of the session by Dr. Kannan on marital duties and sexuality was so intense and information. There was also a men’s only session which was also something that was very informative.
Overall the program was able to give me a clear identification on how to work towards the sacrament of marriage. I am very happy I got to be part of this program and would recommend this program to anyone who is planning to get married.

As I end this day, I would like to take some decisions in my life. As you already know, my life is a bit out of order right now. Overthinking, loneliness and confused. I am hurting a lot of people and sometimes my emotions are controlling me rather than me controlling my emotions. I need to work on myself to get more closer to God, to understand his plan for my martial life, prepare myself with daily purpose and personal prayer. I will try to take part in Holy Mass daily and create a good spiritual routine in my life. I have been procrastination a lot of things in my life. I have some deep weaknesses that also needs to be controlled when I am all alone, I will make an effort to take control of my life and get everything in order and prepare myself to become a good husband for the life partner who has been chosen by God for me. 😇
I will write about how I will change myself in the coming days. I am planning to journal my efforts daily starting today. Tomorrow, it’s the first day of the month, so it might be a good time to start. 😃
